THE PHONEMIC CHART
The 'phonemic chart' is a set of symbols that represent all the sounds in spoken English.
Phonemic charts are useful for learning English pronunciation because the spelling of a word in English doesn’t always tell us how it is going to sound. If we write them using the symbols from the phonemic chart, then we can clearly show how a word sounds.
Here you have minimal pairs. Draw a table in your
notebook with 12 cells. Choose 12 words from this group and listen carefully to
the WORDS. When you hear one of the words you have chosen, cross it out. The
first person to complete all the words must say "bingo" and is the winner
